Laura Donnachie, Assistant Manager

Wow – we were lucky to have her join our team! She has lots of retail expertise and is a true fashionista who loves to create the right look for each customer.  Plus she looks great in our clothes. Laura was born in and spent most of her years in the UK. Her last stop was Kitchener, Ontario before she landed in Antigonish where her mother works as a midwife at St. Martha’s Hospital.

 Mary Connolly, Sales Associate

Mary hails from Guysborough County and we acted on advice from a friend and sought her out to join our team. She took an early retirement as an educator and school principal and decided she had too much energy to be retired. Mary knows fashion inside out and is skilled at alterations as well. Her wit and sense of humour have us all giggling a lot of the time.

Cori MacInnis, Sales Associate

Cori lives in Jimtown with her husband Jamie Braid and their three children. We persuaded her to come back into the workforce to share her creativity with fashions with our customers. Cori’s sunny disposition and positive attitude reflect the spirit of Aphrodite.

Tiiu Poder, Owner/Manager

Tiiu First came to Antigonish with her two children in 1997 to start the XEDC. After her departure from StFX she launched a successful career as a business consultant specializing in arts and culture. Early in 2011 she wrote the business plan and planned the store design and merchandise for Aphrodite. She loves working with Aphrodite customers – quite possibly a carry-over from her childhood passion for dressing up her cut-out dolls.

Linda Felderhof, Sales Associate

Imported from Merigomish, Pictou County, Linda is our newest part time sales associate. A former nurse Linda has made Aphrodite her destiny. She has a great flare for fashion and emanates warmth and good humour. We’re happy to have her on our team!

Claudia Hunter Johnson, Sales Associate

Claudia keeps us all in stitches when she works with us during the summer months and commutes from her home in  Havre Boucher.We wish she could be here all year but then she returns to her home base in the US – from where she teaches film studies at Florida State U, creates documentary films and writes vociferously. Claudia’s also an award award winning writer. There’s a lot to say about this extraordinary woman!
