 The  large jewellery section of Aphrodite is actually like a second store. We have the privilege of carrying the works of some of the most talented artisans in the region.

Like our clothing – every piece of jewellery is carefully selected to work with many of the fashions we carry and to carry the artful theme of Aphrodite. I invite you to come in and just browse the jewellery as you’re planning your gifts this season. You’ll find great pieces ranging from Mermaid Drops earrings in a seashell at just $20.00 per pair right up to some sensational Peter Bauer silver and opal investment pieces.  New this year are some ultra cool leather and metal bracelets by Brave Leather – along with their sensational belts – all made in Canada. Many of our artists are from Antigonish:  Shelley MacDonald (now in the Yukon), Clare Bridge and Julita Naczk. From Halifax we feature Tori XO, Dorothee Rosen, Linda Constantine, Susan George (Mermaid Drops) and Marina Smith (Arcane Angel). Cape Breton artisans include Peter Bauer, Suzanne Squires (now living in Japan) and Gisele Theriault (The Barber’s Daughters – Toronto). From the rest of the Nova Scotia we have , Kate Church, Larry Knox and Michelle Doucette. And just beyond is Trudy Gallagher (Bejewel) in Fredericton. From the rest of Canada are Karley Smith and  Monica Graves (Glamjulz)and international designers Ayala Bar  in Israel and Karin Ravelli from Holland.  Since opening last year we have hosted Trunk Shows with Gisele Theriault and Kate Church, Clare Bridge, Monica Graves (Glamjulz) and Trudy Gallagher. A Trunk Show happens when the artisan shows up on site and delivers a full presentation of the work. We have great relationships with almost ll of the artisans that are represented in the store.

Supporting these extraordinary artisans is one more way that Aphrodite contributes to the creative and the local economy. Join in and help keep Canada beautiful!
