The Antigonish Culture Alive (ACA) hosted their Holiday Party and Fashion Show last Saturday, November 28 at the Legion. Botica and Aphrodite opened their doors to the models who used their artist eyes to create their ensembles for the show. The next stop was finding the perfect shoes or boots from The Perfect Fit. All the models congregated at Aphrodite where they changed their outfits and ran across the lawn to the catwalk in the Legion.
The result is now here for your eyes to see.
A big thanks to all of our models who marched, strutted and danced to the great music compiled by the DJ for the event, Sam Kalman, a professor at StFX !

During the intermission folk and traditional singer songwriter, Joanne Bouchard performed. Joann has recorded two CD’s. The first was Envolées and Chansons Traditionelles is her most recent. It is available at Justamere Cafe, Antigonish Mall and the Antigonish 5 Cents To 1 Dollar Store on Main St.
Last but not least a big thanks goes out to the event organizers who worked tirelessly to make this happen: Brenda Brown, Minoli Amit, Linda Henke and Ruth Young. And to Andrew Barkhouse and Tara Callahan for the excellent photographs.
All proceeds from the event go to Antigonish Culture Alive, our local arts council. ACA’s objective is to raise awareness of the incredible artistic vitality in Antigonish, and they host three annual events to promote artists in our community: Gathering of the Arts, Antigonight, and the ACA Youth Arts Award Program.
We leave you with this thought. Fashion is serious business is it not?
Tiiu – you did a fabulous job with this!
Linda
