In 2005 the Goddess theme was born when a group of spectacular Antigonish women held a Gaudy Goddess party. The earth shifted on its axis that night.
We didn’t know it at the time but a seed was planted on that occasion.
Aphrodite officially opened on March 9, 2012 and what a night that was! With her beautiful voice Laura Smith christened the event and became our Patron Goddess.

Dear Tiiu, Thank you for all the good times and beautiful clothes that Aphrodite has brought into my life – the lacy pants and top that I wore in New York when King received the big award (and my dinner partner was Colin Firth) as well as other spiffy outfits that I wore in London, Paris, Rome. I loved seeing the photos, particularly the group at the Gaudy Goddess party, and I still have a laugh when as the goddess Demeter I thought I should dress the part as a (very unglamorous) farmer. I’m sorry I didn’t get to your closing party in Pictou. I’ve had a winter flu bug which won’t leave me alone and I’ve hardly had my nose out the door in over three weeks.
